Described as an authentic, must-visit experience, the Cellar Door is surrounded by a natural environment rich in wildlife. Enjoy our small batch, hand-crafted wines amongst the canopy of ancient river gums, overlooking the Poonawatta farm dam. Experience personalised tastings of our single vineyard, old vine, and regional collection wines. Relax with a glass of your favourite wine while you graze on gourmet platters or artisan cheese plates.

Poonawatta Tastings
Our tastings are tailored to your preference.
A Taste of Eden - $15 pp
A selection of four to five wines from our tasting menu.
The Eden Experience - $25 pp
A selection of seven to eight wines from our tasting menu, including single vineyard and old vine wines.
Allow up to one hour for tastings. The tasting fee is waived against purchases of three bottles or more. Wines are also available by the glass or bottle to enjoy at your leisure while you soak up the views. Linger, relax, immerse, and savour your Poonawatta experience.
For general tasting visitation, no booking is required. Group bookings are recommended particularly on weekends and public holidays. The maximum online booking is for 8 people. Gourmet Platters
Enjoy a gourmet platter with your tasting, tailored to your liking.
Our 'build your own' platter menu features a variety of gourmet delights, including artisan produce from Barossa Valley Cheese Co, Birky's Fine Foods, Barossa Fine Foods, Grieger Homestead, Torzi Matthews, Gully Gardens, and more. Depending on your appetite and selection, our Gourmet Platters will range from $15 - $30pp, and can be selected once you have settled in with a glass of wine. Bookings are preferred for larger groups.

Firepit Experience
Soak up the ambience around a steel-sculpted fire pit.
Relax and soak up the ambience of the countryside around a steel-sculpted fire pit, enjoying wines by the glass, or a bottle to share. Bring your own picnic or indulge in our ‘build your own’ gourmet platters. The fire will be lit ahead of your arrival, ready for your enjoyment. Our fire pits are equipped with a cooking grill, so for those looking for the full fire pit experience, bring your choice of meat and create your own gourmet feast.
Only available between 15th May to 15th October (dates are approximate, depending on bushfire risk). A nominal fee of $80 covers wood, preparation and cleanup. Enquire below so we can craft you a fire pit experience to remember.

Picnic Spot Experience
The Poonawatta picnic spot sits below the Cellar Door amongst ancient river gums.
Reserve your spot via the booking form. Enjoy one of our gourmet platters, or bring your own picnic basket. Wines by the glass or bottle, in a beautiful country environment. (No BYO)
Meet Our Dogs
On arrival at the Poonawatta Cellar Door, you will be greeted by our winery dogs, Oscar and Charlie, and Chilli who will trot down to your car and become your best friends for the remainder of your stay.
If you are travelling with your dog, please contact us beforehand so we can ensure a safe and stress-free greeting between our dogs and yours.
